TA-DA! Finally! My application for Voleros Saga is done!!!

A coule of small note before I present her information for the leaders of the Voleros Saga roleplay group:

:star:Yes I know there is an awkward white outline around her. I apologize for this; I had to color her by hand, scan her in, and copy/paste her into the application. During the process, not all of the white in the background became transparent, and because I thought it wasn't too bad, I fixed the worst of it and let it stay as a sort of outline. I apologize is this seems rushed or inadequate, becuase I really spent a lot of time on this!:star:

And now, her information:

Name: Aisling, "Aisla" for short

Age: 13, almost 14

Gender: pretty missy....lol

Species: Griffin

Job: Artisan (jeweler)

Talents: 1.) Jeweling/Beading
2.) Gardening
3.) Singing/Playing Music

Personality: sweet, innocent, caring, considerate; nature-loving; optimistic; Aisling can sometimes seem motherly towards others, but that's just because of her natual sense of self-efficiency and consideration. She hates seeing others sick or in pain, but often thinks little of her own sufferings, minor or major.

History:

-Aisling was born to two loving griffin parents in Alora. Unfortunately, she was born with a very serious birth deffect: Aisling was born without wings.
Not knowing who to go to for help, Aisling's parents resorted to consulting a witch who was gifted with dark spells. The result was the witch using up so much of her magic to produce wings for the infant that she also placed a curse over Aisling: in order to expand her wings to fly, Aisling would steal a portion or all of the life energy of the closest living thing to her (in a physical sense). The witch did NOT intend to use so much magic giving Aisling wings, and therefore added the curse on purpose; there were several dark purposes she could use such a curse for later.

-When Aisling had grown up, oblivious to the curse, the witch attempted to kidnap the child to use the curse to her own advantage, mostly to kill those who had wronged her in the past and in an attempt to regain some of the power she had lost when giving the girl wings. In panic, Aisling activated the curse and drew so much energy that it killed the witch and both of her parents. The pain she felt caused her to black out, but Aisling still has haunting nightmares about the casualties she caused. These nightmares haven't occured as often in recent years, but they still bother her when she feels extreme guilt or sadness.

Aisling's curse had 3 prongs to it:
1.) When Aisling expanded her wings to fly, any living thing nearby would give up part or all of it's life-energy. Aisling would feel temporary pain during the energy-drawing process.
2.) The energy she took would remain in her wings (specifically the two gems in the bend of her wings). This energy was neither absorbed into Aisling's personal 'energy' or released to other beings.
3.) When Aisling shrank her wings, the energy stored in them would spread out to the living things nearby, plant, animal, or gijinka. She can focus the release of this energy as a form of healing for injured persons/animals or wilting plantlife.

The first and third prongs of the curse cause Aisling pain, and thus she does not perform either very often. She prefers to use traditional healing methods on herself and others, but will release the energy in her wings if in a desperate situation. Aisling also prefers to travel by horse or foot instead of risking harming or killing others with the curse in her wings.

:star: THIS IS IMPORTANT: Aisling very rarely, if EVER, uses magic due to the pain it causes and the knowledge that she will shorten her life. A huge toll is taken on her lifespan if she takes the life of another...She loses about one year off of her life for every gijinka she kills, accidentally or not. Therefore, she is not above other mortal gijinka, and in my opinion doesn't violate the rules on magic.:star:

Items:

- Gardening Manuals/Books: Aisling has tons of books on plant care and gardening techniques. She has learned a lot about various species of plants and takes care to nurture every single one of her green and leafy 'friends' growing in her gardens.

- Jewels, Beads, Etc.: In order to perform her craft, Aisling keeps a well-stocked supply of various stones, gems, and jeweling supplies. She is half self-taught, half studied in jeweling, having observed several others perform various tasks at different art and jewelery showcases. Her favorite things to work with are turquoise, gold, and any red stone she can find.

- Choker: Aisling doesn't wear it all the time, but this is her favorite choker. It was one of the first necklaces she made when starting her jeweling business, and she often wears it when she is selling her wares as a form of advertisement. Most of the time, though, she wears it just because she loves to!

Other Information:

- Aisling currently lives alone on a generous piece of property in Alora, surrounded by fields, forests, and her personal orchards and gardens that she adores so much. She will let others stay at her house if they ask nicely, and is a very generous host. Her visitors don't often stay long, and this makes Aisling feel lonely sometimes. The wildlife around her property serve as her full-time companions.

- In order to pay the bills, Aisling took up jeweling. She's a very talented jeweler for someone so young! Being the sweet, kind person she is, Aisling offers discounts to the Seasonal Gods and Country Leaders if they happen to come by and take an interest in any of her works. (She'd gladly give Mei anything she wants for free heehee)

- Ayre and Mei are Aisling's idea of the 'perfect couple'. She finds it wonderful that two gods of such different seasons could find so much happiness with one another, despite the differences in their countries and people. Aisling isn't the first to admit that she is slightly envious of Mei--who doesn't find Ayre attractive?!--but considers herself just an admirer of the Summer God. (Aisling would gladly give Ayre all of the cherries from her orchards since he likes cherries so much lol)

- Aisling keeps a horse named Elmstead, or "Eli" as she calls him. He is her main mode of long-distance travel, seeing as using magic to make her wings large enough for a long flight is painful and not to mention detrimental to living things around her. She loves her horse dearly and keeps him well fed and well cared for.

- Aisling, being a griffin and therefore part cat in a way, occasionally purrs in her sleep when she's having a good dream. She'll also purr if you pet her ears--they're super soft and fuzzy. Go on. You KNOW you want to....PET THE EARS! :XD:

- After letting so many people rent rooms in her house as they're passing through, Aisling has come to have a very mature sense of insight and is a great judge of character. She can look at you and automatically determine what kind of person you are, just buy the way you move, talk, how your eyes look or move, and even if you just carry yourself a certain way. She never uses this as a way to take advantage of people, but instead to make sure they're as comfortable as possible when staying in her house.

- Aisling's sense of insight sometimes leads her to ask or say a little too much. She sometimes doesn't notice, but usually does and will apologize profusely for it. She's such a polite little sweetie-pie!

- Her parents died when Aisling's curse reared it's ugly head and she--being only five or six at the time--had no idea how to control it. Her mother's name was Ainestra and her father's name was Auster. They were very loving towards Aisling and towards eachother, and even though Aisling cannot remember very much about her time with them, she loves them dearly. Her mother had long, blonde hair like Aisling, which is why she lets it grow so long in the first place. She got her blue eyes from her father, though, who had darker hair; Ainestra's eyes were brownish-green, in case you're wondering.

- After Aisling's parents died, she was taken to the Summer Temple by some priestesses who found her. One priestess in particular, a griffin named Aquilla, took care of Aisling constantly, and stood up for the child when the other gijinka at the Summer Temple looked upon her as a 'devil-child' because of her curse stones and the circumstances in which she'd been found. After Aisling had healed from the pain and sickness she'd felt after using so much of her curse's dark magic in the death of her parents and the witch who cursed her in the first place, Aisling left the Summer Temple with Aquilla, who was disgusted by how the other priests, sisters, etc. had treated the girl. Aquilla taught Aisling some of her jeweling techniques, and also helped Aisling find the place where she now lives. Before Aquilla left Aisling in order to perform volunteer work all over Voleros, she gave Aisling one of her coral and turquoise bracelets, which Aisling now wears as an anklet.

- Aisling does NOT deal well with snakes. She basically turns into a quivering ball of fluff and feathers, and will cling to whatever or whoever is most convenient until the "threat" is gone. There isn't a logical reason for this, other than she was possibly scared by one when she was little. Whatever the reason, she has a bit of a phobia of snakes. As to whether or not this applies to Naga gijinkas...no one knows. :XD:

Relationships (both from RP's and my own 'canon')

:bulletblue: Ainestra & Auster - Aisling's parents; died when her curse reared it's ugly head at the age of five.

:bulletblue: Aquilla - A griffin, and a former caretaker of Aisling's following her parents' deaths. Aquilla was once a member of the Summer Temple, but left with Aisling after becoming infuriated at how they treated the girl. She has gone off to help others around Voleros, and has not been seen or heard from since Aisling was seven. She is a foster-mother to Aisling, and the girl misses her terribly.

:bulletblue: Yukito - A stubborn, sarcastic, yet dependable and hard-working nekomata who has recently been taken in by Aisling. He is four-and-a-half years older than her and acts as a bodyguard and companion, attempting to keep the 'spit-fire fluffball' out of trouble...not that he always succeeds in that endevor...

:bulletred: Kaden - Despite the fact that he's a crude, viscious mercenary, this hellhound is one of the people Aisling holds very close to her heart. She sees him as someone she can trust and feel safe around...as ironic as that may seem. Aisling sees Kaden as the closest thing she will ever have to a brother, and that being said, she can either be extremely caring--borderline motherly--towards him (to the point where it may irritate him), or easily frustrated and ready to get under his skin (which also irritates him). But either way, she does care about him and wouldn't hesitate to help him or his large family.

:bulletred: Crisanto Rasmus - Probably the oddest character Aisling has run into. Crisanto's a self-managed male prostitutue...as if that isn't awkward enough. But Aisling managed to escape his client list simply because she was underage and had Yukito with his overprotective attitude. Crisanto tends to push Aisling towards being in a lovers' relationship with Yukito, and though she does have some feelings for him there's still a slight bit of hesitation on both sides. But that aside, Crisanto is agreeable and tends to spoil Aisling when he's around...not that she minds, of course.
